About the Workshop
Restorative Yoga can be a valuable tool for self-care, especially in challenging times. Restorative yoga helps to regulate the stress response and rebalance the nervous system, enhancing our capacity to heal.
The practice will not focus on stretching or strengthening, but on yielding and releasing; finding stillness and connecting to breath. You will be guided through simple breathing techniques, a combination of Yin and Restorative poses with each posture being held quietly for several minutes. In the Restorative poses we will use props to support the body allowing deeper relaxation. The practice is designed to leave you feeling nourished, restored and transformed; and is for anyone who has a hard time slowing down, who experiences insomnia, who struggles with anxiety, or anyone who just wants an evening to relax and restore. Each month will bring with it a different theme for the practice.
Hi, I’m Shannon, welcome! I am an E-500 RYT Yoga Alliance certified teacher, and have been teaching in the Maidstone area since 2015. Since completing my initial training, I have certified in; Yoga For Stress, Burnout and Fatigue, Mindfulness and Meditation, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, and am an accredited BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) teacher of (MY) Menopause Yoga™️. I have also completed (with intention to further my studies) a six month Introduction course in Ayurveda. One must never stop learning and growing!
